Edmunds' Rising Star
Edmunds' chef de partie Aaron Darnley, aged 22, has won the 2011 Rising Young Star competition which took place at University College Birmingham last month.
In the Masterchef-style challenge, contestants were given a basket of surprise ingredients and had to whip up two main courses - in just an hour. Aaron's tastings of mackerel with chive and cream jersey royals and "cassoulet" of cockles, onion and lemon confit with a vin blanc sauce, really impressed the panel of judges.
Fast becoming a rising star in the culinary world, Aaron has already participated at several major world chefs’ competitions and last year was awarded the Johnnie Borra Memorial Award by the British Culinary Federation, presented to the most promising young chef under the age of 25.
Well done Aaron, we are proud of you!
